The money situation is pretty dire, but we're pressing along.

I'm up to 36 shows of the 75 I set out to play this year.

I'm in a good place, and plans for the rest of the year are coming along nicely.
On the other hand, that means I'm often too busy to remember to update this damn blog! So many of the posts are recaps and don't include everything, some events may be listed on the wrong day, et cetera. But... it's probably better that I'm too busy to do this!! I haven't been eating unhealthy, it's just that I've been so consumed with the gloriousness of vegetables that I haven't really felt compelled to record calories while I've been eating fresh and low fat foods. • Finished art for the NoVo compilation for the January 28th show.

It feels like it's been longer than two weeks already! Some days I'm slacking, some days I'm on top of it... But all in all, I'm going strong so far... Must. Keep. It. Up. The new Maybenauts mixes sound amazing, and this year is going to be a BIG deal for us. I promise.

Day 13

Today, I:

• Updated the Maybenauts Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter pages.
• Update Chicago Music fan page.
• Worked at NoVo.
• Listened to new mixes with the band and made an edit list. They sound soooooo awesome!!
• Discussed production methods and costs with the band.

Day 12

Today, I:

• Updated the Maybenauts Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter pages.
• Update Chicago Music fan page.
• Caught up on the rest of the MTT blog.
• Found a new indie music promotion blog to obsess over.
• Learned how to use FBML and added a "Next Show" box to The Maybenauts' Facebook Fan Page. Planning other neat things, too!! This is a really useful tool. :)
• Created a Facebook event for our appearance on The Razor & Die Show on WLUW 88.9FM.
• Pandered until The Maybenauts had 500 fans on Facebook! (We're now at 501 and I can shut up about it... until we get close to 1,000 of course. Ha!)
• Created an almost seamless hack for an extra "invite your friends" box on Facebook.
• Wrote an angry letter to NBC about this whole Conan fiasco. :( Join Team Conan!

Day 11

Today, I:

• Updated the Maybenauts Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter pages.
• Update Chicago Music fan page.
• Updated Sonic Bids and MySpace to promote our radio appearance on The Razor & Die Show on WLUW 88.9FM.
• Caught up (almost) on MTT and read some other really interesting articles, among them this one on Joshua Bell, which, while not directly discussing the music industry, shed tons of light on perception of products (namely unkown bands) within it. Reading this article was easily worth my whole day, and every musician or person under music-related employ would benefit greatly from reading it as well.
• Had a meeting with Emilie Jaeger regarding recording, writing, and new shows.
• Worked at NoVo, including working on our upcoming January 28th show (Maybenauts).
• Played the Quenchers open mic.

Day 10

Today, I:

• Updated the Maybenauts Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter pages.
• Sent out my weekly crazy business e-mail.
• Made a few extra bucks with Vee moving the last of the Poi Dog rehearsal space.
• Layed out the graphics/text for "download cards" for the January 28th show... hopefully the songs will be ready!

Day 9

Today, I:

• Updated the Maybenauts Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter pages.
• Updated the Chicago Music page.
• Explored other options for a merch store, like Big Cartel, since I've been having a couple problems with Etsy.
• Made Leilani's birthday present.
• Did all the Facebook invites for the January 28th show at Lincoln Hall!
• Celebrated Leilani's birthday at Late Bar and got ruined. Ruined, I tell you!!!!

Day 8

Today, I:

• Updated the Maybenauts Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter pages.
• Updated the Chicago Music page.
• Sent mailing list e-mail to confirm Café Wha Who cancelation (additional sadface), but plug our upcoming show at Lincoln Hall on January 28th!
• Plugged Maybefits tees via our mailing list.
• Updated The Maybenauts blog.
• Potentially booked a show for The Sonnets.
• Confirmed a Maybenauts live (!) appearance on the Razor and Di Show on WLUW 88.9FM for February 26th!
• Made a to-do list for today and took care of at least two items on it.
• Went to see a good friend's (and huge Maybenauts supporter's) play on the south side. Go Gracie, you rock girl! :)

Day 7

Today, I:

• Updated the Maybenauts Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter pages.
• Updated the Chicago Music page.
• Picked up and dropped off posters for our January 28th show.
• Notified everyone of the cancelation of our Café Wha Who gig this Saturday (sadface).
• Robbled with The Hamburglars at Lucky Number.

Day 6

Today, I:

• Updated the Maybenauts Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter pages.
• Updated the Chicago Music page.
• Wrote down specific mix notes for our new songs.
• Created a pre-buy for our "Maybefits" t-shirts... and sold two so far!
• Went over mixes in lieu of practice.
• Had a drink with the lovely Emily and discussed the verbage for our secret website surprise (stay tuned, really!)...

Day 5

Today, I:

• Updated the Maybenauts Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter pages.
• Updated the Chicago Music page.
• Made a poster and handbills for the January 28 show.
• Updated the Maybenauts song player on the NoVo site.
• Laid out a onesheet for our album release mailings and saved half the future cost by laying out a 8.5x5.5 image! Harr!
• Updated the Maybenauts blog with upcoming shows.
• E-mailed our mailing list to promote this Saturday's show at Cafe Wha Who.
• Contacted a couple bands and Double Door regarding Vee's garage/glam/powerpop/rockandroll extravaganza in May... (details later!)
• Updated the Facebook event for the Jan 28 show.
• Created a Paypal account for The Maybenauts.
• Set up a neat new surprise on Maybenauts.com (you'll have to wait to see)!

Also, I'm realizing that this here bloggie has gotten me even more motivated than I thought. Throughout the day I'll look at my "Today, I:" list and decide it's too short... and then I go to town on stuff I have to do! Nothing like feeling inferior to get light a fire under one's ass. :)

Day 4

• Plotted promo options for our January 28th show.
• Started cleaning the apartment.
• Did some work for NoVo.
• Played at the Halfway House Open Mic with Vee.
• Didn't go for ice cream at 2:30am.

Day 3

• Updated the Chicago Music page.
• Picked up the new mix for Girlfight.
• Taped The Maybenauts' appearance on a Chic-A-Go-Go episode!
• Seriously fucked up my knee.

I'm calling it quits for today, i'm tired and sore and need to rest up for the back-to-the-grind workday tomorrow!

Update!

Since I can't stop doing anything ever (or sleep, apparently), today I also:

• Made some images for the new online Maybneauts shop.
• Made funny Photoshopped versions of a couple of Lenny Jimenez's photos of us from today's taping.
• Applied for a bizarro fantasy job with a CD Baby offshoot.

Day 2

Another pretty light day in terms of getting work done, but tomorrow will make up for it!

• Came up with new merch ideas.
